A ROMEO conman who emptied a widow's bank account of almost £25,000 got out of jail early and must pay back just £20.

Andrew Baldry, 30, was jailed for a year in January — but was freed after three months because of the coronavirus crisis.

Romeo conman Andrew Baldry emptied a widow's bank account of £25,000

He siphoned the money from the woman's account during their two-year relationship.

The cash was from her late husband's life insurance payout.

Jobless Baldry, of Milford Haven, Wales, admitted fraud in January.

At the time, Judge Geraint Walters told him: "It was a tremendously mean piece of behaviour."

Following his release he was called back to Swansea crown court in a bid to recover the cash.

But the court was told Baldry had only £20 left.
