B&M shops will remain open for the late May bank holiday weekend and if you need to visit one, we have the details you need to know.

It's the last long weekend until December which will see Monday as a bank holiday.

The bank holiday – which falls on Monday, May 25 – is the second of the month, following the early VE day bank holiday on Friday, May 8.

B&M stores are due to be open as normal over the bank holiday weekend, for Saturday, May 23 and Sunday, May 24 and some may have reduced hours on the bank holiday Monday.

B&M opening hours for the late May bank holiday weekend

Most of B&M's stores are open seven days per week, typically between 9am to 8pm from Monday to Saturday.

They're generally then open between 11am to 5pm on Sundays, although the hours may have changed for some shops due to the coronavirus crisis.

The majority of stores will keep to the same trading hours on bank holiday Monday.

However, opening hours vary between branches so if you are planning on visiting a shop, it's worth checking your local branch.

You can do this by using the store finder on B&M's website.

The bargain shop chain has roughly 650 stores across the UK.

Opening and closing times can vary from shop to shop, and some shop hours may be temporarily altered due to the coronavirus crisis.

B&M's Edge Lane and Great Home Street stores will be open from 8am-8pm.

The County Road store is open from 8.30am-5.30pm.

B&M told The Sun the quietest time to visit stores is generally first thing in the morning.

What restrictions are in place?

Increased safety measures will be in place across all stores to combat the spread of coronavirus.

Strict social distancing measures are in place as well as limiting the number of customers permitted into each store at any one time.

Saturday, May 23

The majority of B&M stores will open around 9am and close by 8pm.

Sunday, May 24

Stores will open between 11am to 5pm on Sundays, although the hours may vary in some stores.

Monday, May 25

Monday is a bank holiday and opening times depend on the branch but some shops will be closing earlier.

Can I order from B&M online?

No, B&M doesn't currently offer home delivery so you'll have to pop by one of its stores.

Just keep in mind that the chain is prioritising food and toiletries over general merchandise to keep shelves stocked with the most essential products.

It has also urged shoppers to observe social distancing measures while shopping.

Tesco shops will remain open for the late May bank holiday weekend.

Furniture Village is reopening some of its stores this weekend.

Poundland has also opened a further 13 branches ahead of the long weekend.

While pubs and restaurants have announced changes which will be made before reopening.
